Most people know their yard could be doing more.
But every time they try to figure out where to start… it gets overwhelming.
What should you do?
Where should you put it all?
And where do you even start?
So the lawn stays.
Not because people lack motivation. Because they were never taught how land actually works. Not in school. Not by their parents.
The result?
Lawns nobody wants.
Yards nobody uses.
Grocery bills that continue to climb.
There's a difference between gardening
and understanding how
land works.
There's a difference between gardening
and understanding
how
land works.
Gardening is planting things, working, and hoping. Understanding land means knowing how the sun moves across your property, where water flows, what belongs where and why. It means designing a space around natural systems that gets more productive every year instead of more exhausting.
That’s what this weekend with Kenton teaches you.
Not just how to grow food. How to design a property that supports the life you want to live.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or you’ve been homesteading for years… this weekend will show you things about your land you haven’t seen yet.
The workshop gives you the skills to make this the most exciting year you’ll ever have with your property.
“You can’t change the world. But you can change your backyard.”
What You'll Do in the Workshop
This isn't a lecture.
It isn't a course.
It's a weekend where you walk in with a lawn and walk out with a plan.
Over three days Kenton guides you step by step through the process of designing your own property. You learn the principles… and immediately apply them to your land.
Friday Evening
Orientation and introductions. Kenton sets the foundation... how land works, how natural systems think, and why everything you're about to learn changes how you see your property forever.
Saturday
Full day of training and design. Sun, water, soil, food systems, sequencing. You'll start mapping your own property and building your design from the ground up.
Sunday
Your design comes together. Personal guidance and feedback throughout. You leave with a hand-drawn plan built for your land, your space, your life.
Every participant receives personal guidance and feedback throughout the entire weekend.
You leave with something nobody else can give you.
At the end of the weekend you walk out with a hand-drawn design for your own property, built during the weekend in the room. Not a template. Not a generic plan. A design for your land, your space, your life… ready to start implementing the following week.
Get a personalized yard design, a new community, and a wheelbarrow load of confidence.
- A hand-drawn design for your property
- A clear sequence for what to do first, second, and what can wait
- Knowledge of food systems, water harvesting, composting and land design
- The knowledge to avoid expensive mistakes
- Access to Kenton's full online course ($597 value)
- Monthly community calls after the workshop
- New friends in your city walking the same path
And something harder to measure…
A completely different relationship with the land outside your door.
Led by Kenton Zerbin
Kenton began his career as a high school teacher in western Canada but left the classroom after realizing the education system was failing to teach one of the most important subjects of all: how to live well on Earth.
That realization sent him on a global journey to learn, teach, and design in communities around the world. His work has included:
- Teaching tours across Canada, including 8 provinces
- Projects with First Nations communities in Alberta
- Training programs for the Ministry of Agriculture of Barbados
- Edible schoolyard and community garden projects
- Helping thousands of people transform their homes and properties
Today, Kenton teaches people how to create homes and yards that shelter and feed them.
He lives in an off-grid tiny house in British Columbia that he designed and built himself. He enjoys paddleboarding, trail running, and geocaching almost as much as he enjoys writing in the third person.
This Weekend is For You If...
- You look at your lawn and feel like it should be doing something more
- You've thought about growing food but don't know where to actually start
- You want to understand your land... not just plant things in it
- You want a plan, not just inspiration
- You already grow food and you're ready for a deeper level of design and intention
- You're done outsourcing decisions about your own property to people who don't live on it
