From overwhelmed to inspired! We could never have imagined what Kenton saw in the future for us, our property, and our campground business. He made us feel like we deserve this dream, then showed us how we can create a regenerative business that works with the land.
Beck & Dan B.
It all started with a phone call. Before you know it, Kenton was in our backyard showing us how to build and plant our dream garden before anything else. Kenton taught us so much and even built the herb spiral for us. We continue to have him as our Permaculture coach.
Mandy & Nishan S.
I hired Kenton for a weekend consultation. I got a landscape plan, we built a compost bay together, and he gave me the guidance I needed to start my sanctuary of food, water, & biodiversity. He coached me through the process so I know what goes where and why.

The Process
Working Together
- Step 1: Email
Quite simply… reach out!
Let’s hear about your property, your dreams, and any problems you need solved. I will get back to you shortly with a personalized reply.
We will go back and forth to make sure we are a good match. If so, you will get a custom proposal and quote for your project.
- Step 2: Questionnaire
Learning about you & your land.
Next you will receive a questionnaire so I can get to know you, your goals, and land as much as possible ahead of time.
This will be a save time and help you clarify your goals. We will review the questionnaire on site.
- Step 3: Site Visit
Discover your land potential.
The big day! I arrive at your property with survey gear in tow. We walk the land, I show you its potential (+ teach you to survey), then I propose a plan to marry your land & goals together.
When I leave, you’ll have a working map with survey data, a strategic task-list, and the resources to bring your project to life.
- Step 4: ???
Let’s make magic together.
Most clients are excited to keep working together. Custom options include coaching you through the DIY install, bringing my students to your site for a workshop, or being your project manager. I have even gotten clients in the news and investors.
My goal is to help you succeed.

What Clients Are Saying
Kenton was my coach for almost 2 years! He came in, reviewed my landscape goals and design, and then helped me build it step-by-step. This included buying trees together, showing me how to build a brick garden bed, and use power tools. Now I own a yard that is 100% food! Hire Kenton! You won’t regret it.
Bernadette Q.
I hired Kenton as my Permaculture consultant for a 2-acre family acreage. From an initial consult, we went on to work together for the whole install! I got to work beside him and his team. We built a garden, planted 282 fruit trees, and built a drought-proof landscape. Kenton helped us achieve our dream property.
Ben R.
Our school council enlisted the guidance and support of Kenton for our ‘food forest’. From the initial consultation to doing a landscape design, all the way to supervising 80 people to do the install, it was a pleasure to work with Kenton. I highly recommend Kenton and his services.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of clients hire Kenton?
I work with a wildly diverse bunch and that’s part of the fun. One day I’m walking a city lot with a young family setting up their first property, the next I’m hiking a rural property with a retired couple planning their legacy, and then I’m consulting for a First Nations community, a nonprofit, or a Air BnB operation or retreat center.
My clients are united by one thing: they want to create something that matters. Whether it’s food security, sustainability, income potential, or just a life that feels more grounded, I help people turn their land into a launchpad for their values. If that sounds like you, we’ll get along just fine.
How long does a consultation take?
It depends on the scale and scope of your project:
• Urban properties or smaller lots usually take 1 full day.
• Homesteads and acreages typically require 2 to 4 days.
• Larger projects or those involving extensive surveying or some on-site installations can be up to 5 days.
Before I come out, we’ll align on how much time makes sense. My consults aren’t rushed, they’re immersive. I’m here to walk the land with you, map possibilities, co-create a vision, and ensure you’re set up for success… whether that takes one day or five.
How far will you travel?
As far as the land calls. ✈️ I’ve consulted across Canada, the U.S., and internationally from inner-city lots to remote mountain valleys. If you’ve got land and a dream (and ideally a road that leads to it), I can get there. Travel costs are billed separately, but I keep it fair, transparent, and efficient to save clients money.
In short: If you want me there, I’ll find a way to make it work.
How much does a land consultation cost?
Consultation packages range from $1500-$10,000 depending on where you’re located, how big your property is, how many days we need, and what your goals are.
Smaller properties (1-10) acres average $3000-$5000 and usually require 2 days at a minimum.
After we have a discovery call and establish what you need, I send you a quote complete with researched travel costs.
Think of it as the best investment you can make before spending thousands (or more) on your property. Most clients say the consult pays for itself by helping them avoid costly mistakes and uncovering opportunities they never saw coming.
What time of year is best for a consultation?
Any time’s a good time, but your goals and timelines for taking action may impact the best time. Spring is great for getting into install. Fall is ideal for preparing for planning and design, so you can then start in the spring unrushed. And summer is gorgeous.
The one pre-requisite is I must be able to see the ground & be outside for an extended period of time. So no snow.
What should I expect from a consultation?
First and foremost, to be inspired and to have fun. I’m not your typical clipboard consultant. I am personable, enjoy meeting people, travelling to new properties, and helping both reach their potential. We’ll walk and survey your property together, I’ll teach you how to see it through a designer’s lens, and we’ll align its potential with your goals.
Expect a hands-on experience, tons of insight, and a few good laughs along the way. By the end, you’ll have a clear path forward and a renewed sense of clarity and confidence. Also, bring a notebook. You’re going to need it.
Can you help me find and pick the land I buy?
Absolutely, and I wish more people asked me before buying.
If you're searching for land, I can support you in identifying the best property for your goals, budget, and dreams. I’ve helped clients evaluate listings, spot red flags, and uncover hidden gems. Whether it's soil, slope, sun access, zoning, or water, I know what to look for and what to avoid.
Think of me as your land-buying ally: part detective, part matchmaker, part design visionary. Because the right land makes everything that comes next easier, cheaper, and way more exciting.
How quickly can we get started? Is there a waitlist?
I wish I could say "I’ll be there tomorrow!" but I’m usually booking a few weeks to a few months in advance.
That said, don’t let that stop you from reaching out. I’ll always try to accommodate urgent timelines when I can, and the sooner you get in touch, the sooner we can lock in your date. The best projects start with a solid plan and that starts now. 😉
What should I do to prepare for a consult?
Not much, but a little prep goes a long way. Before I arrive, I’ll send you a questionnaire to get to know you, your land, and your goals. It’s simple, but it helps me tailor the consult to you.
If you have maps, real estate listings, or old photos, dig those up and send to me before the consult. Bonus points if you’ve already walked the land noting patterns on the land, problems, and opportunities.
And finally… clear your calendar. A proper consult isn’t rushed. Some parts of a consult I can do alone, but otherwise prepare to learn a lot and to even get hands-on (optional).
Why work with Kenton? What are his qualifications?
Great question. I’m not your average consultant - I’m a trained teacher, an internationally certified Permaculture designer, and the founder of the Attainable Sustainable Academy, where I’ve taught thousands of students how to transform land into abundance.
I’ve worked with clients across North America from urban lots and rural acreages to schoolyards, farms, and even entire communities. I’ve consulted on everything from garden beds and water harvesting to food forests, natural buildings, and regenerative businesses.
But qualifications aside, what sets me apart is how I show up: curious, collaborative, creative, and obsessed with seeing what’s possible on your land. I bring a rare mix of vision, technical know-how, systems thinking, and good old-fashioned enthusiasm. Most clients tell me I make them feel more excited and capable than they’ve felt in years. And I take that as the highest compliment.
What if I’m not sure what I want?
Totally normal, in fact, that’s one of the best reasons to book a consult.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, have too many ideas, or just don’t know where to start, my job is to help bring clarity. Together, we’ll assess your land (or the land you’re considering), explore its potential, and clarify what’s most important to you. You don’t need a perfect vision, just curiosity and a willingness to learn.
By the end of the consult, you’ll feel focused, confident, and excited about your next steps. Most clients say it’s the turning point that helped everything click.
